Just two years later, our vision expands south with the construction of two packinghouses in Michoacán, Mexico, opening the door to new markets in Asia, Europe, and Canada.
We kick off the first of our avocado ripening trials and help bring avocados from Mexico to the U.S. for the first time. As more people discover their flavor and health benefits, avocados quickly move from niche to nationwide favorite.
We roll out our very first ripe avocado programs to the industry, making it easier than ever for shoppers to grab perfectly ready-to-eat avocados right off the shelf.
Our sourcing network goes global across the premium growing regions of California, Mexico, Chile, Peru, and New Zealand.
We begin serving customers across the U.S. with the addition of 8 packing & distribution centers in key markets.
Our first big step in Peru begins with planting 1,200 hectares of avocados—marking the start of our vertically integrated operations. Today our Peruvian footprint encompasses more than 4,000 hectares of thriving avocado and mango farms.
We step into the organic market with certified organic avocados, giving shoppers more ways to enjoy fresh fruit without compromising on quality or flavor.
We establish a Europe-centered sales team based out of the Netherlands to bring our World’s Finest Avocados to more customers overseas.
We open one of North America’s largest, most advanced ripening, packing, and distribution centers in Oxnard, California. The facility has since expanded to 18 ripe rooms with the capacity to pack up to 1.2 million pounds of avocados a day.1
We open South America’s most advanced avocado packing plant in La Libertad, Peru, to pack and ship avocados from our vertically integrated farms to global markets.
Our Mission Minis—“tiny but mighty” avocados – market small avocados as the perfect single-serving to shoppers!
Through the Mr. Avocado partnership, the Art of Ripening makes its debut in China with the opening of the first of four ripe centers.
We enter a joint venture with Cartama to grow, pack, and ship avocados to global markets.
We form a dedicated team to deliver perfectly ripened avocados to meet the growing demand from the foodservice sector.
Emeralds in the Rough are introduced to retail & foodservice customers, marketing grade 2 ‘beautifully blemished’ avocados that are *just* as tasty on the inside.
We begin leasing farmland in Guatemala, establishing vertical integration to grow avocados for global markets.
We become a publicly traded company as we complete our Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker Nasdaq: AVO.
We leverage our global network to introduce a first-of-its-kind nationwide ripe mango program for retail, wholesale, and foodservice.
We open our largest forward distribution center in Laredo, Texas, coined the “Avocado Hub” of the U.S., allowing us to expedite the transportation of avocados from the border.
This milestone reflects our continued global growth, leadership in the industry, and the rising demand for fresh avocados and mangos worldwide.
In response to consumer to demand for larger, shareable-serving avocados, we add jumbo avocado bags to our product line.
We enter the UK market with a state-of-the-art distribution center and highly advanced Mission Control ripening technology, setting a new standard for ripe avocados & mangos in the UK.
Through a joint venture with ZZ2, CAP, and Core Fruit, we begin to develop over 1,000 hectares of avocado orchards in Limpopo, South Africa.
Our global avocado and mango sourcing network expands to more than 20 premium growing regions, ensuring year-round supply.
We launch a first-of-its-kind Retail Ready Mango Bag to bring the benefits of convenience and value to mango shoppers nationwide.
We host a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by the President of Guatemala & the U.S. Ambassador to Guatemala, leading the development of the country’s emergence as a key player in global avocado production.
We build out our mango product line with the Honey Mango clamshell as a seasonal springtime offering.
