LOCATION:       Mission Produce UK LTD, Dartford, Kent (on site)

Job Summary

The Sourcing Assistant supports the execution of Mission Produce UK’s sourcing and inbound supply chain strategy. Working closely with the Sourcing and Supply Chain teams, this role provides operational, administrative, and analytical support across sourcing, inventory, logistics, and supplier coordination. The Sourcing Assistant plays an important role in ensuring accurate data, effective communication, and smooth product flow from origin to customer.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of sourcing plans in line with customer demand and supply availability
  • Maintain and update sourcing plans, supplier forecasts, and inventory records
  • Assist with inventory ordering, purchase order creation, and receipt processing within ERP systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365)
  • Track vessel movements, delivery schedules, and any transit or logistical challenges
  • Coordinate inbound logistics activities including containers, transportation, documentation, and customs clearance.
  • Maintain accurate sourcing, logistics, and supplier documentation.
  • Support communication of weekly product programs, volume changes, and delivery requirements to growers and suppliers.
  • Work closely with warehouse and QC teams to support accurate forecasting, stock arrivals, and safe storage of product.
  • Support preparation of reports and data analysis relating to supply, inventory, and performance.
  • Assist in monitoring supplier performance and compiling feedback where required.
  • Support cross-functional communication between sourcing, supply chain, sales, finance, Mission Farming, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Provide administrative support for sourcing meetings, planning sessions, and reviews.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across sourcing and supply chain processes.
  • Perform other reasonable duties related to the role as required.

Minimum Qualifications & Requirements

 

  • Some experience in sourcing, supply chain, procurement, or inventory management & experience within a perishable or fresh produce environment would be preferable, but suitable equivalent qualifications/ skills will also be considered.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with ERP or stock management systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Freshware) is desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on data accuracy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external suppliers.
  • A proactive, flexible, and positive “can‑do” attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within the sourcing and supply chain function
