JOB TITLE: Production Line Leader
REPORTS TO: Senior Line Leader
LOCATION: Dartford, Kent
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensuring that for their area risk assessments, regular inspections and audits are carried out.
- Ensuring that the operations under their control are, as far as is reasonably practicable, conducted without detriment to the health and safety of employees or others who may be affected by their activities;
- Ensuring that the Safety Management System is effectively implemented within their areas of responsibility.
- Implement and maintain workplace precautions suitable to the working environment and as identified in risk assessments.
- Ensuring that all accidents, incidents and near misses reported to them are documented and investigated correctly.
- Provide suitable levels of information, instruction, training and supervision to employees in their area.
- Ensuring that it is comprehensible and understood by the person to whom it is addressed.
- Provide feedback on performance including successes and failure of plans or precautions.
- Ensure effective communication through their departments of Health & Safety activities.
- Maintaining safety discipline within their area of responsibility.
- Ensuring that any remedial actions that are beyond their scope of authorization are brought to the attention of their immediate superior.
- Ensure all start-up and shut-down checks are completed for all lines
- Assist in packing orders following the specific customer requirements
- Ensure correct packaging and labels are being used on all lines
- Ensure lines are continuously running throughout the shift
- Ensure all information for packing jobs is kept up to date
- Check packaging has the correct labels
- Ensure all pallets are end-labeled correctly
- Ensure all unused labels are returned to the label room after each job
- Review KPIs hourly and brief operatives on progress
- Lead and coach production operative team members
- Carry out any additional reasonable tasks as requested
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- 1 years’ experience working within a production facility or relevant skills and/or qualification
- Experience packing on a line or similar type of work
- Knowledge of fresh produce packing requirements
- Understanding of fresh produce quality expectations
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good written and verbal skills
- Good understanding of written English
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work with a variety of cross-functional team members
- Competent in problem-solving
- Understanding of ERP systems such as SAP, Fresh ware , D365
