JOB TITLE: Warehouse Truck Operative
REPORTS TO: Logistics Supervisor
LOCATION: Dartford, Kent (on-site)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensuring that the operations under their control are, as far as is reasonably practicable, conducted without detriment to the health and safety of employees or others who may be affected by their activities.
- Ensuring that any remedial actions that are beyond their scope of authorisation are brought to the attention of their immediate line manager.
- Maintaining safety discipline within their area of work.
- Ensure Health & Safety procedures are complied with.
- Co-operate with Managers and Supervisors on all Health & Safety matters.
- Not interfere with anything provided to safeguard the Health & Safety of themselves or others.
- Take reasonable care of their Health & Safety and others.
- Report all Health & Safety concerns, unsafe situations, or unsafe practices immediately to an appropriate person.
- Report accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences and near misses to their Manager/Supervisor and cooperate in their subsequent investigation.
- Adhere to the company safety rules at all times and refrain from doing anything that constitutes a danger to themselves or others.
- Ensure that any equipment issued to them, or for which they are responsible, is correctly used and properly stored.
- Be responsible for good housekeeping in the area in which they are working.
- Supply / remove equipment and product to and from production lines safely using the electric pallet truck.
- Strap pallets in production as required.
- Remove waste from the Warehouse and production, and ensure areas are kept clean and clear.
- Use a handheld scanner to move product through the system as required.
- Load and unload vehicles as directed by the line manager.
- Clean areas during and at the end of the shift or as requested.
- Carry out other reasonable tasks as requested by line management.
- Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience working within a warehouse or packing environment is preferred, but equivalent qualifications and similar experience are also welcome.
- Flexible approach to work.
- Good numeracy and attention to detail.
- Positive attitude to work.
- Respectful and helpful to others.
- Good understanding of English.
- Ability to work with other people.
- A power pallet truck license is preferable.
