MISSION PRODUCE™ BRINGS RIPE AVO & MANGO DISHES TO IFPA’S FOODSERVICE CONFERENCE

Oxnard, Calif. – July 22, 2024 – Mission Produce, Inc. (NASDAQ: AVO) (“Mission” or “the Company”) a world leader in sourcing, producing, and distributing fresh Hass avocados, today announced it will be showcasing the delicious eating experience of its expertly ripened avocados and mangos with samples of Peruvian Avocado Toast and Mango Panna Cotta at the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA)’s Foodservice Conference in Monterey, Calif., on July 26, 2024 (booth #218). By mastering the art of ripening avocados and mangos for foodservice, Mission aims to inspire the incorporation of delicious avocados and mangos across more of the menu to bring added value to each dish.

"The foodservice sector is a catalyst to food innovation, often introducing consumers to their first taste of new flavors and ingredients– and at Mission Produce, we know the quality of those ingredients is the foundation of creating a positive dining experience,” said Galen Johnson, Senior Director of Sales, Foodservice and Wholesale. “That’s why we're committed to delivering the World’s Finest Avocados and Mangos, expertly ripened and ready for preparation. As Masters in the Art of Ripening, our partners count on our custom ripe programs for fresh fruit delivered 7 days a week. And at this year’s Foodservice Conference, we’re looking forward to sharing our insights on the value that both avocados and mangos can bring to the menu, as well as look at ripe program opportunities for restaurants, hospitality, business dining, and schools.”

An overwhelming majority (97.2%) of avocado consumers are willing to pay more to add avocados to their dish; and two-thirds are willing to pay $2.00 or more!1 When it comes to mangos in foodservice, “mango” mentions on menus have grown by 7% in the last four years, now mentioned on 42% of menus in the U.S.2

“Avocados and mangos are versatile ingredients with significant opportunities to be incorporated across more of the menu,” added Johnson. “Both offer unique textures and flavors, as well as important health benefits.3,4 So, we’ll be sampling both expertly ripened avocados and mangos to showcase the quality of our fruit and to inspire more avocado and mango culinary creations.”

Mission Produce uses a science-based methodology and four decades of artistic intuition to ripen fruit to the right stage for the recipe. With elite customer service, Mission’s customer-tailored ripening programs provide order flexibility with daily deliveries, last minute-order changes, multi-stage shipments and hands-on training to set customers up for success upon delivery.
